1-2ft and perfect

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Sun is out for the second day in a row and there is a lush 1-2ft down the road. The best shaped waves that i have seen for ages in the light offshore winds. Only in on the longbaord, but how summer should be, and what we have been missing in a big way. Time to sack off work and get in…

Arctic Challenge latest - boys doing good…

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

The pictures don’t look great - grey weather, fog and icy temperatures. Our team is really up against it, as well as some gruelling race conditions, they are going against some of the best enduro race teams in the World.

They are currently on the Expedition Stage of the Race - bascially a 120km run over two days. This is after 3 previous days of mountain biking, icefjord paddling and glacier trekking - so they won’t exactly be ‘fresh-legged.’ Add to this the fact that they have to orientate themselves in a harsh terrain (in the fog) and you begin to understand what the guys are going though. One wrong turn in the fog and you’ll be way behind (this happened to Team Salamon) - Team Finisterre is doing pretty well and are currently around ninth.

They are back in a few days so will hear things first hand and how the kit got on. Watch this space.

Work Experience…

Ah…….. Work Experience with Laura and Jonny..

This past week we decided to get two students in from local secondary schools for a little work experience - we love what we do and if we can spread that - why not. The week consisted of future goals, branding and marketing exercises as well as a skate clinic, where Jonny wiped the floor with all of us…

Laura comes from South Devon and Jonny from Aggie. Both had some great ideas, loads of stoke and we may see them again. They particularly enjoyed the quality checks on our garments (in the photo)…!

Natural advantage

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

Exploring the performance and environmental advantages of natural and organic products – nature’s bounty - is something we are pretty keen on. Our design director, Tom Podkolinski, spends his days turning design theories on their heads, biking 30 miles to and from work, as well as the occasional visit to local Cornish Alpaca farms (and challenging the klingons for inter-stellar domination)

Earlier this week, Tom visited a local Alpaca farm and is currently coming up with some groundbreaking ways of using Alpaca wool as a new benchmark in insulation textiles…this is just the beginning. Exciting stuff.
