Back on a winter's evening in 2005, a meeting at the Finisterre workshop led to a unanimous decision to place wool at the centre of Finisterre's fabric development. The pinnacle of our ambition was to develop a legitimate UK fine fibre supply chain that would take British wool to the masses. With the fire lit, it took two years of stoking and detective-like research to eventually lead us to Lesley Prior, the guardian of the last twenty eight Bowmont sheep on the planet. A further four years of hard work and passion followed until finally we find ourselves at the project's coming of age - our first 100% British Bowmont wool garments.

Sourcing locally has enabled us to research and develop every aspect of the supply chain. This level of commitment and understanding has allowed us to encourage innovation throughout the production process. Over the last few years, we have won awards for our garment and fabric innovation, supply chain management and responsible sourcing. Local sourcing is therefore a key aspect of our identity and one that is at the centre of the company's future.

It is still very early days and there is a huge amount of work yet to be done, but we are proud to have a product in our hands and proud of what we have achieved thus far.
