Etobicoke Mk V

So, we kind of think that anyone without one of these is just making life a tad more difficult. Is there a jacket that will keep me warm, dry and I can take anywhere? Hello, we've been doing one for the last 5 years! Now in its fifth year of refinement and product testing, we’ve further improved the durability of this insulated jacket and have reinforced the hem and have strengthened the cuffs and pockets. The Etobicoke MK V continues to utilises some damn fine Primaloft Eco recycled synthetic insulation to provide maximum warmth for minimum weight.

  • Dual draw-cord adjustable hem
  • YKK Vizlon non-snag zip

Fabric | Windproof & water resistant
 | Fast drying & breathable |
Durable 100% recycled/recyclable ripstop outer shell | Primaloft Eco® synthetic insulation fill (100g/m2) | We’re no strangers to rain in the UK - Synthetic fill retains 75% of its warmth when wet, whereas down fill only retains 15% of its warmth when wet.

Aftercare |
We recommend cleaning at 30°C with a gentle non-detergent. Cleaning will re-activate the durable water repellent finish on the fabric. When rain ceases to bead on the fabric it¹s a sign that water repellence is fading and cleaning/re-proofing is required.
Drip-dry only. Do not use fabric conditioner, bleach or dry-clean.

Our A/W 11 insulation is made in China, with full transparency to the highest quality and ethical requirements. The Far East remains the beacon of recycled polyester innovation, through our localisation program, our goal is to bring the sourcing of fabrics, components and manufacture all closer together - all part of our traceability programme i-Spy.

3th in a row
Review by Falcao
This is mine 3th Etobicoke now and I think that says enough.
Great jacket for the inbetween seasons.
Too cold for deep winter but then one can use it with a hard shell on top.
Also great on surftrips because it doesn't take any space in the lugage.
Lightweight - nice style - warm, allround OK.
Nice product, but not very warm
Review by Matholwch
Having read other reviews about sizing I ordered a large, and was very pleased by the fit, quality and cut of this jacket, its looks make it suitable for casual wear around town.
Very lightweight, and a great colour (red).
However, I may have been spoilt by other primaloft jackets, but I was disappointed by the warmth of this jacket, perhaps it would benefit from some velcro cuffs, prevent up cuff draft (this however would give it a less casual look). There isn't much insulation in the arms, seems to be less than half of other primaloft jacket. I'd caution against this jacket a purely technical jacket, as it lacks heat retention, whilst as a casual jacket its great, and a good cut. The kneck fleece linning also seemed to lack the quality I was expecting.
Having said that, I felt it was good value for the half price I paid in the sale, great style.
Fantastic

Bought the jacket 3 weeks ago, can't take it off. Fantastic product. Very light and compact but at the same time incredibly warm. The lack of 'bulk' is very practical for me, I can wear it underneath my cycling jacket and still be seen at night. This is my third product from Finisterre and I have to say that they have all been excellent. Have you guys ever thought of designing a tent? You could start with a Surfers beach tent, could be a great line extension for you...
Warm, light, great value and great fit/looks

I've been wearing a v3 for about 18 months. Been through a lot. From everyday commuting to mountain tops and everything between. It is – as everyone says – extremely light. When you first pick it up you think it's never going to keep you warm, when it really really does. My only mark down is on performance for it's wear and tear. Some of the stitching came undone pretty fast and I got a campfire burn-hole in the sleeve dead fast. But you know, I think I paid around £100, and I've worn it consistently. To the point where it has virtually no water resistance anymore. You can't argue with the service from Finisterre. I know if I wanted it repaired it would be done, but I'm just not going to send it back for that. If you want an extremely warm, lightweight jacket that can take some proper temperature abuse – just buy one.
Fantasic jacket
Review by Maryjane
Bought this in blue for my son for Christmas and it far exceeded what we both expected - not as shiny as it appears on website and gorgeous soft, light feel with no bulkiness. He declared it very cosy and excellent fit. Would recommend to anyone wanting a compact but very warm outdoor jacket.
Excellent

Fantastic jacket
Review by George
Love the style of this jacket, the collar is a great height for both function and looks. The jacket comes up very fitted but doesn't limit movement at all so is ideal. Is incredible how non-puffy and light this jacket is while keeping you perfectly warm! The red is a great colour also. Very happy with this product and the service at finisterre is second to none, so friendly and helpful!
Great jacket but no hard wearing
Review by Sleevesy
Comes up a little smaller than you might imagine (a medium for a 5'9", 39" chest, 31" waist was like being in a straight-jacket).

It's beautiful, ridiculously light (no, it really is) and damn warm. Simple and effective.

BUT... it really isn't hard wearing. I caught the jacket within 5 mins on a small sharp object and instead of catching and stopping, it just tore like butter through the outer shell.

Looking forward to the repair, but the turnaround time on repairing seems to be pretty slow.

However, the service is entirely friendly and attempts to solve any problems you may have.

I look forward to seeing how the jacket behaves in the longterm given its lightweight nature.

Great product

I am extremely happy with this purchase. High quality finish, extremely light-weight, very snug fit on my XL frame. Very happy with my purchase and wearing it everyday.

Two suggestions - provide phonetic guidance on the pronunciation and add zips to the external pockets.
Great jacket...........but....
Review by mark
Great jacket, beautifully cut to follow the contours of the body, light as a feather and surprisingly warm and windproof considering how modestly proportioned the loft of the insulation is....any gripes? Not really, but if I was being really pedantic I would say that it would be great for it to inherit the exterior chest zip pocket from the Sastruga and on a really anally retentive tip, I would reduce the armhole size by a centimetre or 2..... brilliant jacket, but oh how I wished and waited till yesterday to buy it at half the price I paid for it in your 'Flash' sale.....grrrr!
